Terms & Conditions

By visiting bartolobakehouse.com or by dining, booking, or hosting an event with us, you agree to these terms. They cover reservations, catering, vouchers, our website, and how we work with you.

Reservations

• A reservation is confirmed when you receive a confirmation message from us via WhatsApp, email, or in person.
• Please arrive within 15 minutes of your booking time. After that, we may release the table.
• For parties of 8 or more, we may request a deposit or a card on file to hold the booking.
• Cancellations are free up to 4 hours before your booking. Later cancellations or no-shows on large parties may incur a fee equal to the deposit.
• We may amend or decline reservations to manage capacity during peak service or private events.

Catering & private events

• A signed quote and a deposit confirm your booking.
• The deposit (typically 30% of the estimated total) is non-refundable within 7 days of the event.
• The remaining balance is due on or before the event date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Minimum spends apply for full or half venue rental — current rates are on our Host With Us page.
• Menu confirmations and final guest counts are needed 5 working days before the event.
• Reductions of guest count by more than 10% within 5 working days of the event may still be billed at the confirmed count.
• Force majeure (severe weather, mandatory closures, public-safety emergencies) — we will work with you to reschedule rather than refund.

Allergens & dietary preferences

• Please flag any allergies or dietary restrictions when booking, not on arrival.
• Our kitchen handles wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, nuts, shellfish, fish, and sulphites. We cannot guarantee a cross-contamination-free preparation.
• Items marked V (vegetarian), Ve (vegan), and GF (gluten-friendly) follow the intent of the recipe. We’ll point out any prep-stage caveats if you ask.
• Final responsibility for dietary suitability rests with the guest. If in doubt, please ask before ordering.

Vouchers, gift cards & promotions

• Vouchers are valid for the period printed on them, typically 6 to 12 months from issue.
• Vouchers are non-refundable for cash and cannot be replaced if lost.
• Promotional offers cannot be combined unless we explicitly say so.
• One offer per visit per table, unless otherwise stated.

Photos & social media

• We may photograph the dining space, our food, and event moments for marketing purposes.
• If you’d prefer not to appear in any photo we share, let us know on the day and we’ll respect that.
• When you tag us on social media (@bartolobakehouse), we may reshare your post on our channels with credit. Tell us if you’d prefer we didn’t.

Intellectual property

• The Bartolo logo, brand name, recipes, photography, copy, and the design of this website are owned by Bartolo Lisboa Bakehouse or licensed to us.
• You may quote short reviews of us with attribution. Please do not republish our recipes, full menus, or high-resolution photography without written permission.

Website use

• The website is provided “as is.” We aim for accuracy on menus, prices, and event details but reserve the right to correct, update, or change content.
• If online prices differ from in-store pricing (because of a recent update we missed), the in-store price is the authoritative one.
• We are not responsible for the content of third-party sites we link to (for example, Trip.com, Google Reviews, social media platforms).

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability for any dispute relating to a visit, an event, or use of this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example, lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Kuala Lumpur.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the new terms.
